Take Care of Yourself

One insightful question to ask at the beginning of each day is, “how can I take care of myself today?” This acknowledges your equal value with all other people for whom you care. You “count” as a person whose needs and wants are as important as others’s needs and wants.

Caring for yourself includes investing in healthy, invigorating relationships. It includes solitude for reflection, prayer, or discernment. It includes making time for endeavors that energize you.

Self-care is responsibly managing yourself and your time, considering yourself as worthy of attention as anyone else for which you care. Keep yourself daily on the list of people to whom you tend, and you’ll be less likely to burn out.
